Birthday party
Community
organizations take turn hosting birthday parties
once a month for all residents born during that
month. Our Community Advisory Board hosted the first
party, contributing refreshments, cake, and pizza.
Residents played cards for entertainment.
Purpose
- Provide a
special celebration for the men who have had a
birthday during a special month.
- Provide a
birthday party for 25 to 35 men who are between
the ages of 20 and 60. ( we will provide you a
list of the attendees' first names.)
- Provide the
identical gift packet ( around $10.00) to each
man.
- Provide
refreshments.
- Provide social
and or recreational activities.
- Arrive a half
hour before the party - to allow set-up time.
When and
where.
The party may be
held on Tuesday and Thursday from 7:00 - *:30
p.m. or Saturday and Sunday from 4:00 - 5:30
P.M.
Activities
The Best type of
activities are where the sponsoring group
individuals interact with our young men.
Activities the men have enjoyed are: team
building activities. Obstacles course contests,
card games, and etc... Our men enjoy and need
situations, which include FRIENDLY competition.
Refreshment.
You may bring in
a birthday cake and some thing to drink. In
addition, you may provide one or more of the
following: pizza, snacks, cookies, vegetables
and dip. You may want to provide a cookout
during the appropriate months. To defray the
cost of party ask your community businesses for
donations ( dentist, restaurants, pharmacies,
groceries, office supply, party supplies,
department stores, and etc..

Health Care Items:
acne treatments, basic bath soap, chopstick,
hand lotion, plastic soap container, plastic
toothbrush container, shampoo, stick deodorant,
and toothbrush ( the students are not allowed to
receive gum, glass containers, or items, which
contain alcohol.)
Stationary items:
colored drawing pencils, composite book, drawing
paper, greeting cards ( thank you, birthday,
friendship and blank ones) multipurpose paper,
non retractable stick type ballpoint pens, non
toxic highlighters, notebook, filter paper, (
the residents are not allowed to receive paper
tables with spiral binders.)
Food Items: candy
bars,, cookies, fruit drinks, health bars, small
microwave items, ( instant lunch packets, pizza,
popcorn, stew, soup, and etc..) potatoes/ corn
chips, soft drinks in plastic containers, and
snack.
